Sometimes we joke that we work on everything except French cars.

Because we offer services from simple oil and filter change or brake replacement to driveability diagnostics, engine swaps and tracking down that one weird noise that only happens between 40 and 42 miles per hour on hot days. Unique Vehicles, Individual Drivers
Bill Hahn’s Automotive is a one stop shop. But we do not apply a one-size-fits-all or menu approach to mechanical repairs. Compare us with some of the “volume shops” out there, like Les Schwab or Meineke, who will often employ across-the-board practices like replacement of brake pads, brake rotors, AND brake calipers with all associated hardware at every. single. brake job. Similarly, some dealerships will replace brake pads at 5mm when the safety standard is 3mm or below and most cars will be able to travel another 10,000+ miles on those extra millimeters for the front brakes (way more miles between changes in the rear brake pads, as well).

Perhaps these types of all-or-nothing policies are in place for standardization of services. Maybe it is an attempt to avoid unknown quantities for post-repair QC and/or future proof repairs. Maybe it’s all in service of those industry wallet flushes we heard about in an owner training in 2016 (prefer not to be cynical and to think it’s the former, not the latter!).
